Description
We love making Jeeps more useful in creative ways and this kit will now allow you to use your 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (JKU) in new ways that allow more flexible use of your back seat and cargo area. After we introduced our Overlander/Utility side panel conversion kit, we had lots of customers wanting to just purchase the rear half doors without the full hardtop conversion pieces. We have sold them separately to several customers so we have finally added them as a separate item on the shopping cart.
The rear half closeout doors bolt into place of your factory rear doors. You will need to remove your factory doors and rear factory door hinges. These doors bolt into the exact same locations as the factory hinges and the door striker. No drilling on the body itself and just reuse your exact same bolts from your door hinges on the body side. The doors DO NOT open and are not hinged. REPEAT, these doors are not meant to be opened and have latches. They are strictly meant as closeout doors. Because of that, they are NOT designed or intended to be used with any of the soft uppers.
These doors were modeled and molded correctly to the body lines of the JKU. The door handle insert, door hinge mount locations have been smooth before molding. They have the exact contour of the Jeep body lines as they were molded using OEM Jeep half doors and NOT metal half doors. Most metal half doors that currently available on the market currently are just sheet metal and do not have the correct contour of the body lines of the JKU.
The doors can be ordered in white or black smooth gelcoat and/or white or black/white textured gelcoat. They can be color matched to your jeep but they will need to be primered with and sealed and then automotive painted.
Installation:
Simply unplug your power windows plugs from the B pillar area, and slide your rear doors off the hinges. Once the doors are off the hinges, use a 13 MM and remove the upper and lower door hinges brackets from the body tub, save your bolts. Remove the D striker plate on the rear part of the and save the hardware. Place one thin layer of grey foam tape on the contact point of the door to the tub. Then drop each door into place and reinstall the bolts and hardare that were removed to bolt the new door into place.

Is there any additional gaskets or sealing I need?
Included in the doors are a small self adhesive gasket that helps seal any small gaps between the fiberglass and the doors.
Can I open these doors?
No, these are only closeout doors and are not designed nor have any means for latches and hinges. They are closeout panels ONLY.
Can I use these to closeout the back of a JKU and make a truck with your half hardtop?
Yes and No. Yes, you can use them to create a DIY truck kit. No, the hardtop will need to be modified because of the B pillar and floor and bulkhead etc. A fair amount of your own fabrication work will be required.
